Édifiée à l'emplacement d'édifices plus anciens, elle a traversé les épreuves du temps. Au fil des siècles, l'église fut endommagée, reconstruite et modifiée à plusieurs reprises, au gré des conflits, des incendies et des évolutions du village.

Étroitement liée à l'histoire de ce port normand tourné vers la mer, elle demeure aujourd'hui l'un des symboles du patrimoine barfleurais.

Overlooking the port of Barfleur, the Church of Saint Nicholas, patron saint of sailors, bears witness to several centuries of maritime history. 

Built on the site of earlier structures, it has withstood the test of time. Over the centuries, the church has been damaged, rebuilt and altered on several occasions, in the wake of conflicts, fires and changes to the village.

Closely linked to the history of this seaside Norman port, it remains today one of the symbols of Barfleur’s heritage.
